• Sign the Operation Clean Sweep commitment.
The first step is to sign the Operation Clean Sweep commitment, which is one of the mandatory requirements that the auditor will verify. This commitment covers the entire facility where the audit will take place. The OCS Turkiye audit is at the facility level and in order for all of your company's granule processing facilities to be qualified for the OCS Turkiye Certification Program, each facility must demonstrate compliance through a third-party OCS Turkiye audit.
Comply with all environmental laws and regulations addressing granule containment.
Conduct a facility audit.
Determine if you have appropriate facilities and equipment.
Determine if employees have and follow proper procedures.
Identify potential problem sites and develop new procedures to address them.
Share your experiences with industry colleagues.
Establish written procedures.
Ensure that procedures are readily available to employees.
Organise regular employee training and awareness campaigns about Operation Clean Sweep.
Assign employees responsibility for monitoring and managing granule containment.
Encourage each employee to sign an employee engagement pledge.
Ask for feedback from employees about your program.
Use workplace reminders such as stickers, posters, etc.
Conduct routine inspections of the facility grounds (production sites and car parks, drainage sites, driveways, etc.).
Continuously look for ways to improve the program.
You need to request a third party audit from an Accredited Certification Body (CB). Information about the Accredited OCS Turkiye Certification Body is available on our website. The Certification Body (CB) ensures that the facility fills in the application form and then organises and prepares the audit. An auditor is appointed by the CB and the appointed auditor visits the facility to carry out the audit according to OCS Turkiye Certification requirements. The audit includes an assessment of the measures and procedures in place to combat granule loss (e.g. retention screens along the physical boundaries of the facility) as well as a documentary assessment.
After the audit result is evaluated, the OCS certificate is issued by the CB. After the plant is certified by OCS Turkiye, the name and location of the certified facility is published on the OCS Turkiye website.
The certification process and the authorisation are described in the table below.
