It is known that the pollution in the oceans and seas as a result of industrialisation activities is increasing day by day and adversely affects marine life, and especially in recent times, microplastics and the prevention of the release of these plastics into nature have become a critical issue. Operation Clean Sweep initiative has been launched worldwide in the plastics industry in order to prevent losses and leaks occurring in the facilities during the production, transport and production of granules, to prevent marine pollution, which is a global environmental problem, and to prevent the mixing of plastic raw materials on land into the seas.
With this initiative, it is known that awareness, training and inspection services are provided in order to prevent plastic raw material granules from posing a danger to life in the seas. It is important for companies operating in the plastics sector to have OCS Environmental Certificate with International Validity in order to prevent granule losses and to prevent environmental pollution in the seas.
In this context, "Seminar on Granular Microplastic Prevention Certificate OCS within the Framework of EU Green Deal" organised by ITO and PAGEV will be held on Friday, 28 July 2023 between 09:00-11:00 at ITO Assembly Hall.

Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) is an international voluntary program carried out by the plastic industry and covering the entire value chain in the plastic industry, with the aim of reducing plastic granule loss to the environment, raising awareness and sharing best examples. The representative and executive of this program in Turkiye is PAGEV.
